Balance Skin Care Products for Normal & Combination Skin

Normal and combination skin types tend to be the most common, as they feature both dry and oily qualities. This combination can look like an oily t-zone with enlarged pores on the forehead, nose and chin with dryness and even flakiness on the cheeks and under the eyes.

We’ve curated the Balance skin care collection for normal and combination skin types to use. Featuring biocompatible formulas that support, nourish and provide the wide range of benefits needed for these skin types, this collection boasts natural and organic ingredients. Truly pure and gentle on your skin, these wildcrafted products are highly effective for achieving a healthy, vibrant look. This collection boasts products that will properly moisturize and balance your skin without clogging your pores or stripping the skin of its natural oils.

Skin Care Products for Normal Skin

Normal skin is not too dry or oily with the skin surface being smooth and having relatively smaller pores. Since our skin is our largest organ, it’s important to put high quality, nourishing ingredients on our skin. That’s why we created this collection of Balance skin care products made with organic, wildcrafted ingredients to help you get healthy, glowing skin. Support your skin by cleansing with our gentle, yet effective Aloe Herb Cleanser with a pH level of 5.5-5.6 that closely matches your skin’s natural pH. Free of chemicals and toxins, this gentle, effect cleanser both hydrates and moisturizes with aloe vera and coconut oil. A few times a week, introduce a manual exfoliant like our Kaolin Micro Exfoliant to remove buildup or clarify skin. Or get a deeper cleanse and reduce the appearance of large pores with our Purifying Mud Mask

Here at Annmarie Skin Care, we truly believe a beautiful, radiant complexion is nurtured with high-quality, nature-powered ingredients that are sourced with integrity. All of our products are cruelty-free, non-toxic, free of phthalates, sulfates and other harmful, synthetic chemicals. Our Balance skin care products effectively soothe, balance and nourish your skin, so that it looks vibrant, healthy and beautiful.

Skin Care Products for Combination Skin

Combination skin usually has a range of skin needs. You need to ensure you are appropriately caring for your combination skin type with a good cleanser, facial oil and exfoliant made from natural ingredients. Take the guesswork out and check out our Balance Gift Set, which includes an entire routine and contains some of our bestselling products. Our pH-balanced Aloe Herb Cleanser gently removes impurities on your skin without drying it out. With skin that can have both oily and dry patches, our uplifting Neroli Toning Mist and the Ayurvedic Facial Scrub—our gentle dry herb exfoliant—and more, all gently help cleanse, balance and nourish your skin.

This gift set also includes our popular Herbal Facial Oil for Normal & Combination Skin, which features our distinct herbal infusion of calming botanicals in a skin-nutritive grapeseed oil base. Because the grapeseed oil is so lightweight, it is easily absorbed into the skin, which effectively delivers nutrients without clogging pores or leaving a greasy residue.

Balance – for Normal & Combination Skin Frequently Ask Questions

What does balancing mean in skin care?

Balancing in skin care most often refers to balancing the skin’s natural oil production. Your skin types typically differ based on how much or how little your skin naturally produces oil. It’s important to find the right products and especially moisturizers that complement your skin’s natural processes to help your skin reach a state of balance.
Balancing also refers to balancing the skin’s natural pH. It’s ideal to use a cleanser that’s already pH-balanced (at a pH level of 5.5), any higher will strip your skin’s acid mantle layer leaving your skin dry and vulnerable. Following up with an equally safe toning mist adds a level of hydration and also helps with the absorption of products that follow.

What is good for combination skin?

To start, it’s important to incorporate a facial oil formulated for combination skin types, so that your moisturizer delivers the correct weight of moisture to the skin while balancing the skin’s natural oils.
The skin also requires regular exfoliation, which gives the skin a nice polish and removes flakes and texture, but the two things you’ll want to pay attention to are the grit (if using a physical exfoliant) and the frequency in which you exfoliate. For combination skin types that are less sensitive, try our Kaolin Micro Exfoliant. For a gentle product suitable for sensitive skin, try our Ayurvedic Facial Scrub.
And lastly, we recommend incorporating a clarifying mask to absorb excess oil, firm and tighten skin naturally, and renew your complexion. For combination skin types that lean more dry, use the Purifying Mud Mask every two weeks; for combination skin types that lean more oily, incorporate this same mask once or twice a week.

Do I need a moisturizer if I have normal skin?

Yes, every skin type can benefit from using a moisturizer, as long as you use one that is formulated to work with your specific skin type. Our favorite type of moisturizers are facial oils, as they are potent and, depending on where you get them from, can be concentrated with high-quality, cold-pressed nutritive oils.
Applying a facial oil to normal skin will keep skin healthy, balanced, calm, smooth, softened and supple. With adequately moisturized skin, you can bring back a vibrant boost and keep the look of fine lines and wrinkles at bay.

Which serum is best for combination skin?

The best serum for combination skin is one that is brimming with effective humectants like hyaluronic acid and saccharide isomerate for optimal hydration, as well as antioxidants to protect against environmental stressors. Serums with natural, activated ingredients most effectively even out skin tone, brighten, tighten and firm skin for the long run. These ingredients keep skin properly hydrated, fortified and illuminated without looking greasy.
You’ll also want to ensure the serum you’re using is one that is made with high-quality ingredients, free of harsh, toxic, synthetic chemicals and truly supporting the health of your skin.

How often should you exfoliate combination skin?

We find that the sweet spot for exfoliation frequency is about 2-3 times a week for combination skin types. This allows enough sessions for polishing off flakes and texture without over-cleansing skin, which can throw your skin’s natural oils out of whack—and this balance satisfies both the drier and oilier aspects of combination skin.
However, we do recommend getting well-acquainted with your skin and adjusting as needed. Additionally, there are many ways to exfoliate, which include masking, scrubbing or chemical exfoliation, so experiment and lean into your preferences.
If you happen to have the added layer of sensitive skin, always patch test and rotate products in judiciously, as to not overwhelm the skin with too many new products.

Which facial oil is better for combination skin?

Combination skin usually requires a facial oil with a base oil that is lighter in weight, such as grapeseed oil, and is bolstered by other calming botanicals, like tamanu oil, blue chamomile essential oil and echinacea. These ingredients are soothing, gentle and balance your skin's natural oils.
